Gregory R. Ticsay

Gregory Ticsay began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Lake County in 1995. He served in the Misdemeanor and Felony Trial Divisions before being named the Chief of the Misdemeanor Trial Division in 2007. He served for a decade in the Lake County Veterans Treatment and Assistance Court when it was formed in 2011. He was selected to serve as the Chief Public Defender in 2024.

Mr. Ticsay received a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for the Lake County Opioid Initiative and the Lake County Juvenile Justice Council. He is a member of the Lake County Bar Association.
